Last year, over 3,500 Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) volunteers helped over 7,400 disabled veterans and military personnel. Founded in 2005, PHWFF is a unique, community-based, nonprofit 501(C)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to the physical and psychological rehabilitation of injured active-duty military personnel and veterans with disabilities. This is accomplished through the therapeutic and rehabilitative benefits of fly fishing, patience and relationship-building. Participants include: active duty military, disabled veterans, Guard, and Reserve personnel with VA disability ratings. Whether wounded in combat, injured in vehicle or training accidents, or suffering debilitating illness, PHWFF serves all disabled veterans. Because of this, PHWFF is in a position to lead the way in helping today’s young disabled veterans throughout their lifetime.
