Every full moon Islamorada comes alive thanks to the Morada Bay’s spectacular Full Moon Party. The Morada Bay Beach Cafe, located at Mile Marker 81.6 bayside, transforms their huge beach into a magical event that is the place to be in the Florida Keys. Thousands of locals and tourist alike gather early at the Cafe to enjoy the many festivities that go on well into the night.
It begins a little before sunset where the entertainment is relaxing and mild during the dinner hours and through the beautiful sunset. As the sun sets and the full moon begins to cast its glow over the water the party begins to pick up, and at this time you know you are in for a special evening.
At dusk bonfires and tiki torches line the beach and a plethora of beach performers to include fire jugglers, acrobats, Brazilian Dancers, stilt walkers and more entertain the growing audience. A Bahamian Junkanoo Parade then struts their moves to a tropical island beat and has everyone dancing in the sand, and is climaxed by a spectacular fireworks display that rivals only those seen on the fourth of July.
At 9:00PM Salsa and Reggae bands take over the main stage and this is when the heavy hitters get into their swing. DJ’s are spinning dance party music and keeping the dance floors loaded inside the Café and at Pierre’s Green Flash Lounge. The party goes on and on and is by far the best beach and dance party in the Florida Keys.
